After serving as a deputy director for the department since 2013, Steven Stonehouse has been named the permanent director of the Sedgwick County Department of Corrections (SCDOC) by the county.

Stonehouse acknowledges that he faces several challenges in his new role, but he also commends the Board of County Commissioners for increasing the pay of essential staff members, which will help attract and retain employees.
